Structural and magnetic properties of rapidly quenched (Sm,R)(Fe,Co)11.4Ti0.6 (R = Y, Zr) with ThMn12 structure

摘要
The structural and magnetic properties of (Sm0.8R0.2)(Fe0.8Co0.2)(11.4)Ti-0.6 (R = Y, Zr) prepared by rapid quenching are investigated focusing on the differences between the Y- and Zr-substituted alloys. An almost single phase with ThMn12 structure was obtained for both cases of R = Y and Zr. The mu M-0(s) of (Sm0.8Y0.2)(Fe0.8Co0.2)(11.4)Ti-0.6 determined from the magnetization curve was 1.52 T, whereas that for (Sm0.8Zr0.2)(Fe0.8Co0.2)(11.4)Ti-0.6 was 1.46 T. To clarify the difference in magnetic properties between the samples, hyperfine splitting was measured by Mossbauer spectroscopy and it was found that the magnetic moment of the Y-substituted alloy was larger than that of the Zr-substituted alloy in all three Fe sites, and this result was consistent with the difference in mu M-0(s) obtained by magnetization measurement.
