By analyzing the experimental data of ionospheric modulation heating during EISCAT experiment, it is shown that the intensity of the ELF/VLF signal excited by AM mode is one order of magnitude higher than that of BW mode. However, compared with AM mode, the ELF/VLF excited by BW mode has no harmonic component, that is, the BW mode excitation ELF/VLF signal quality is better than the AM mode.
