The International Commission on Radiation Units and Measurements (ICRU) Report Committee on "Bio-effect Modeling and Biologically Equivalent Dose Concepts in Radiation Therapy" is currently developing a comprehensive and consistent framework for radiobiological effect modeling based on the equieffective dose, EQDX(alpha/beta), a concept encompassing BED and EQD2 as special cases.
