摘要
This study investigates factors that affect EHR adoption in developing countries, with a focus on the country of Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Arabia healthcare system is currently undergoing tremendous transformation under its Saudi Vision 2030 government program. The study suggests that coercive, mimetic, normative, asset specificity and uncertainty factors affect adoption of EHRs in Saudi Arabia. We propose a conceptual model developed through the application of institutional and transaction cost theories. The comprehensive model provides insight into important areas of focus for developing countries looking to advance their healthcare system through the adoption of technologies like EHR.
