摘要
Degradation of the acetaldehyde adsorption performance of coconut-shell activated carbon impregnated with various amines when stored in various atmospheres was experimentally studied using fixed beds. It was found that 2-aminoethanol and morpholine on the activated carbon each self-degrade into compounds with no reactivity for acetaldehyde, while aromatic amines (aniline, p-anisidine, p-phenetidine, p-aminobenzoic acid, p-aminobenzenesulfonic acid and p-aminobenzenesulfonic acid ammonium salt) are oxidized and lose their reactivity. Further measurements on the degradation of impregnants on other support materials showed that the degradation in the adsorption performance of 2-aminoethanol and p-aminobenzenesulfonic acid is accelerated by the presence of activated carbons but that the degradation is suppressed by using activated carbon fibers without changing the adsorption capacity of impregnated activated carbon.
