Propagation of light bullets in media with quadratic nonlinearity

摘要：
We seek solutions to the second harmonic generation equations in two-dimensional dispersive media in the form of spatiotemporal solitons. By means of the aberrationless approximation we implement a transformation from these equations to a system of ordinary differential equations for spatial and temporal widths. Both self-matched and mismatched regimes of pulse propagation are investigated. Choosing optimal ratios between nonlinearity, diffraction and dispersion for self-matched pulses, we demonstrate a possibility of stable light bullets existence. The results are confirmed by direct numerical simulations of the basic equations.
