Author presents selected findings from a qualitative study of sexual behaviour of 21 men having sex with men (MSM). Analysis of in-depth interviews shows extremely broad inter individual diversity in the conceptualizations of sexuality and sex, as well as in forms of sexual intercourse and in the risk involved. Specifics in sexual behaviour are strongly related to the subjective meaning of sexuality and sex, and to the personal history of one's partner- and sexual relationships. These findings are discussed with author's findings from a pilot study on discursive resources of intimacy in homosexuals which indicated a substantial influence of discrimination (homophobia) onto their satisfaction of intimate needs.
