摘要
Methanol extract of leaf stem bark and root bark of Alstonia scholaris R. Br. were subjected separately to test their antibacterial property by invitro methods. The best results were observed in stein bark extract, hence subjected to chromatographic fractionation and obtained nine compounds compound. C(1) phytosterol and C(2) alkaloid echitamine showed significant activity.
