Luminescence efficiency of B2O3-Sb2O3-Bi2O3 glass phosphor doped with Sm3+

摘要
The dependence of the output power of Sm3+-doped glass phosphor on Sm2O3 concentration and thickness has been investigated. The output power increased with increasing Sm2O3 concentration up to 1 mol%. However, the output power decreased with Sm2O3 concentration more than 1 mol% due to concentration quenching. The output power increased with increasing glass phosphor thickness. The highest output power was achieved for a thickness of 10 mm. The luminescence efficiency of a 10 mm thick glass phosphor doped with 1 mol% Sm2O3 was 0.5%. Moreover, the luminescence efficiency of Sm3+ was estimated to be 12%.
