摘要
Wireless Capsule Endoscopy is a technique for examining human Gastrointestinal (GI) tract including small intestine which is difficult to be examined with conventional endoscopy. The main challenges of WCE is how to improve data rate, high image resolution, and transmitting data with low power consumption. One of the possible way to mitigate them is by using Impulse-radio Ultra Wide Band (IR-UWB) wireless technology. Antenna plays major role as a transmitter and receiver in WCE system. Therefore, in this paper the design of WCE transmitting antenna and in body performance has been investigated. An Ultra Wide Band (UWB) small circular patch microstrip antenna with half groundplane and slit on it is proposed. This antenna has overall size of 12 x 8 x 1.97 mm3 that can be fitted with current available commercial wireless endoscopy's capsule. The implantable IR-UWB antenna performance is presented in terms of return loss, and antenna gain. The proposed antenna has a -10 dB bandwidth of 3 GHz with maximum far field gain value is equal to-6.584 dB and the minimum gain value is equal to-11.87 dB.
