Collisional ionization of krypton and xenon excited states

摘要
We investigated the collisional ionization of krypton and xenon atoms in a mass-separated atomic beam in collinear fast-beam laser spectroscopy. It is found that collisional ionization can be used for sensitive detection of recyclable and partially recyclable transitions. It can also be used to locate the strongest transitions for isotopes with HFS splitting. Incorporated into our trace-detection system, collisional ionization allows ultra-sensitive particle detection of rare krypton isotopes.
