摘要：

Traditional Mandarin Chinese language, whose feature structures are completely different from western languages, is analyzed of its characteristic structure. The basic architecture for Mandarin dictation, acoustic modeling/processing, and linguistic processing/modeling is considered. Some typical prototype systems, related applications, and initial industrial efforts and products are presented to indicate the feasibility of the key technology.
