Engineering management and engineering management education: an integrative three-dimensional approach

This paper presents a three-dimensional approach to viewing both engineering management and engineering management education. The traditional approach is to view engineering and management as two distinct and separate disciplines, and to view engineering education and management education areas. In reality, in organisations which are predominantly engineering or technologically-based, whether in public or private enterprises, the distinctions are blurred and the interrelationships are interwoven and merged to achieve efficient and effective organisational objectives. Three-dimensional view shows this situation more clearly than the traditional two-dimensional view.
