摘要
This paper deals with frequency estimation for burst-mode transmissions in slowly fading frequency-selective channels. A suboptimal frequency offset estimator is derived for Rayleigh fading channel with additive white Gaussian noise, requiring a pilot signal, which has diagonal autocorrelation matrices. According to the algorithm, a simple, closed-form solution to our frequency estimation problem is provided without any knowledge of path amplitudes of the channels. The algorithm is also operable without timing synchronization. The simulations show that better performance can be obtained when path delays have been known. The estimator is more computationally efficient than ML estimators while attaining good performance at signal-to-noise ratios higher than an SNR threshold.
