摘要
The real-time (RT) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is one of among emerging technique for studying speech production. The RT-MRI has a particular advantage because it produces complete views of the entire vocal tract such as the pharyngeal structures in a safe and noninvasive manner. With RT-MRI, a midsaggital image of the vocal tract from the glottis to the lips can be acquired. The RT-MRI refers to the continuous acquisition of MR images with frame rates sufficient in capturing the underlying motion or physiology of interest. This has become possible caused by advances in imaging technology such as rapidly fluctuating gradients, novel k-space trajectories, parallel imaging, as well as improvements in computer speed.
