摘要：
A methodology based on both implicit and explicit finite element methods has been developed to simulate multi-pass rolling processes in a production environment. Adaptive meshing, automatic mass scaling, steady-state detection criteria, and automatic remeshing are employed. A customized interface to an interactive modeling system has also been developed, which enables the roll pass design engineer to optimize multi-pass rolling schedules in a user-friendly environment.
