摘要
This paper presents an investigation into the applicability of a new fractional slot concentrated winding with improved magneto motive force, however with low winding factor for the fundamental wave, for traction machines. For comparison, a common used distributed winding is considered as reference design. Two different synchronous reluctance motors have been designed and analyzed under the same geometric and electric constraints. Investigations carried out on the machine length show that due to short end winding and high fill factor for the concentrated winding, this winding type overcomes the distributed winding for a certain machine length range.
