This paper shows basic fields, benefits and failures of the international cc-operation developed by the Chairs of High Voltages and Electrical Apparatus (HV-EA) of the Gdansk Technical University over the last 25 years. The co-operation embraced sister institutions of universities and in a few cases also industry. The full list of ties contains schools. institutions and establishments from 20 countries; however, more intensive co-operation was maintained with only 5 countries. After a general indication of kinds of benefits brought by the international cc-operation, more details are given on mutual achievements due to the co-operation between HV-EA and foreign institutions. In this context, among others, themes of co-operation, publications, and conferring of PhD, DSc and professorship awards are listed. These facts confirm the very well known truth that the Academia international co-operation is an important factor raising the level of engineering education.
