摘要
The increasing growth of the Internet of Things (IoT) poses a wide range of privacy and security threats to consumers. Current research have addressed some of these challenges but recent privacy breaches in Home Assistant services show the gap between the current approaches and what is required. In this paper, we propose a privacy protection framework for the IoT called HIPA (Heterogeneous IoT Privacy Architecture) which aims at resolving some of the privacy concerns in a heterogeneous environment. With the help of a hypothetical case study, we illustrate how our framework can address the inconsistencies and risks of a new IoT device deploying within a heterogeneous network. Our initial analysis shows that our proposed framework can potentially help the user to analyze the risk and make the decision prior to the installation of any new IoT device.
