摘要：

Firstly, this paper compares the character of EDI with the character of XML. Secondly, one useful model has been analyzed and designed. Thirdly, the process is described based on the model designed. Then one example of standard XML documents is discussed. In the end of this paper, the conclusion has been given that it is the trend the XML will replace EDI on the supply chain in the future.
