摘要
Emily Dickinson, who was the most prominent female poet in American Romantic Period in 19th century and also as prestigious as Allan Poe and Walt Whitman, was regarded as the pioneer of the Imagist Movement in American literature history. Emily, the only female poet who was bold enough to compose love poems then, created more than 300 poems about love in her life. The themes of her love poems were frank, genuine and meaningful, which displayed detailed description of various love experiences. In addition, Emily adopted rich, peculiar and novel images in her love poems, which made the plants, flowers, birds, animals and natural scenes in the poems charming and profound. This paper analyzed and interpreted the rich novel images in Emily's love poetry from three perspectives, plants, animals and natural scenes, which can fully manifest the unique enchantment of her love poetry.
