摘要
Elastic scattering of alpha particles from Pb-208 at higher energy is explained by a microscopic and phenomenological alpha potential. The same complex potential is used to calculate the alpha width of Po-212 from the principle of detailed balance. The alpha width of the ground state can be reproduced to within a factor of 3 of the experimental value.
