摘要：

Renewable energy systems such as those based on wind and solar power are poised to play a major role in the U.S. energy economy. They can reduce the country's reliance on fossil fuels and help mitigate climate change by minimizing pollution. Due to technological advances made in recent years, renewable energy systems are surpassing traditional systems in both efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
