摘要
In this paper, we propose a practical system design for wireless implant devices. In order to support both wireless power transfer and medical implant communication service, our design adopted a novel ultra small dual band coil-type antenna. Rests of the elements are composed of commercial off-the-shelf components. Based on this design, the medical implant communication and wireless power transfer performances are thoroughly evaluated in various situations. Evaluation results reveal that the relative performance varies with different situations such as indoor/outdoor and body emulated materials. Our system eventually showed that it can support bi-directional communication more than 1m apart in air and 1cm apart for in-body channel. With practically feasible wireless charging scenario, the system can also support 24/7 operation.
