Objective Objective of the present work is to theoretically estimate the strains generated in a plate by a reverberant acoustic excitation, in SEA frame work. New expression An expression for determining the strains due to the trace wave generated in the plate is derived, which is an essential component of vibration caused due to the acoustic excitation. Results Strains developed in a plate when subjected to reverberant acoustic field are obtained experimentally and the results are compared with the theoretically estimated results and they are in good agreement.
