摘要
A new organization which is responsible for the disposal of high-level radioactive wastes, will be established in around 2000. The waste disposal will be promoted on a full scale after that Before implementing the waste disposal, it is necessary to establish the related techniques. Therefore, a series of issues for each step of waste disposal, such as the selection of candidate sites, site characterization, design and construction of repositories, safely assessments. emplacement of wastes, closure of repositories. and management after closure, which are to be promoted by the implementation body, were studied from technical viewpoints. The consideration for design construction, assessment, etc. at each implementing step is offered as the result. The present paper describes the basic concept related to the disposal project.
