摘要
The effect of silica and its surface chemical modification by silane (Si69) on the dynamic-mechanical properties of solution styrene-butacliene rubber (S-SBR) was investigated. Dynamic-mechanical measurements were done to evaluate both the real and imaginary parts of the shear compliance over a wide range of frequency and temperature, 10(-4) to 100 Hz and - 50 to 120 degrees C respectively. In addition, the stress-strain measurements, DSC and TEM were carried out. It was found that both the dynamic-data and stress-strain results are not much affected by silanization of the silica. This may be due to that S-SBR interacts well with silica as can be seen in TEM photographs. This means that there is no need of silane modification for silica concentrations lower than 70 phr.
