摘要
Gas pressure in coal seams is a major factor contributing to the gas emission and gas-coal bursting in underground coal mines. In this paper, the distribution pattern of gas pressure surrounding the mining area is studied. Particular considerations are given to the varying coal permeability resulting from the abutment pressure and to the dynamic feature of the flow-field structure associated with mining face advance. In a case study, numerical modeling using a finite element program was conducted to calculate the gas pressure in the coal seams with varying coal permeability and at different cycles of face advance. The results show that the modeled gas pressure agreed well with the field measurements. Smaller advance distance in a mining cycle would cause less change of gas pressure.
