摘要
Teaching and learning of semiconductor physics is considered to be a difficult task for both the students and the teachers. Complexity and variety of concepts required to gain a basic understanding of the Semiconductor Physics are well appreciated. Computer-Assisted-Instruction (CAI) systems have already been employed for assisting in the teaching/learning process. With the emergence of low cost, multimedia supported PCs, CAI systems are supposed to get closer to a human tutor. A PC-based, multimedia supported knowledge-based system was developed to teach Semiconductor Physics. This paper describes the overall architecture of the system, the student-tutor model, simulation of teaching-learning scenarios, and techniques of incorporating multimedia support with the knowledge-base.
