摘要
This paper presents the design of a dual band planar monopole antenna operating in the ultra-wide band frequency range. The antenna is optimized by varying the radiator dimensions. Two values of radii are considered in this paper: 8cm and 12 cm. A copper circular disk has been used as the radiator and FR4 material is considered to create the substrate. To have an optimum performance the distance between the circular disk and the ground plane has also been adjusted. The performance has been evaluated in terms of S-parameter calculation, power distribution and radiation pattern. Such antenna, having miniature dimension and omnidirectional radiation pattern is suitable for on-body propagation analysis.
