We study finite deformations of heat conducting viscous dielectric solids and derive constitutive relations that satisfy nn entropy inequality. These are simplified for orthotropic, transversely isotropic, and isotropic materials. For each class of materials, linear constitutive relations valid for infinitesimal deformations are derived.
