摘要
This paper analyzed definition and scope of construction industry and its characteristics from construction product competitiveness, firm competitiveness and national competitiveness. Then application analyses of different competitiveness theories on the construction industry were compared and the formation principle of construction industry was analyzed. The paper proposed a path oriented method to analyze construction industry competitiveness. A Four-Element Analysis Model for analyzing construction competitiveness based on improved Potter's diamond model was worked out and the function of each element was discussed in the formation and development process of construction industry competitiveness. Finally the paper proposed an evaluation indicator system for construction industry and took China construction industry as an example to show the formation elements of construction industry competitiveness and their assessment.
