Measurement Systems of Individual E-business Competency in an E-business Management Environment

In a global environment, most firms have used e-business systems to efficiently perform their tasks and to improve their performances. The individual working in this environment has to be qualified with his or her e-business capability. We need to measure and manage the individual e-business capability. This research provides a measurement system to gauge an individual e-business competency that needs to efficiently perform the given tasks. The measurement items for an individual e-business competency are extracted from the major components of a general competency in previous studies. The items were verified by factor analysis and reliability analysis through a pilot test. The developed fourteen items were extracted from twenty eight items by these analyses. This study developed a 14-item framework that can entirely measure individual e-business capability in an e-business management environment. The developed systems was applied to a case study and presented the measurement results.
