Cucl2 assisted cubic to hexagonal phase transformation of cadmium sulphide

摘要
It appears that the phase transformation in case of CdS depends on the starting material and method of treatment. In phase transformation process, XRD peak heights corresponding to: (111), (200), (220) (belonging to cubic phase) and (002), (101) and (103) (belonging to hexagonal phase) are changing. Percentage of hexagonal content (H) in CdS go on increasing with an increase in concentration of CdCl2 or CuCl2 (% by weight of CdS) into CdS and phase transformation perhaps could be attributed to the incorporation of Cl- ions in CdS matrix in the process of doping. Lattice constants are observed to be sensitively affected by doping. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
