Year 2000 - Will your computers crash your company?

Much of the popular press and many computer magazines have begun to focus their attention on the Year 2000 computer problem (Y2k). However, much of the coverage deals with the potential impact on the financial community: banks, Wall Street, the IRS, etc. This paper examines the overlooked problems, repair processes, opportunities, and impacts in the logistics industry. The study presents data gathered from U.S. transportation companies with respect to their current level of preparedness and identifies their plans to deal with Y2k. Finally, the paper presents a case study of how to prepare for the Y2k impact.
