摘要
The corrosion resistance in saline conditions of weathering steel with different concentrations of Si (1, 2 and 3 wt.%) exposed to dip dry tests (simulating wet/dry cycles of atmospheric corrosion) was studied by weight loss, X-ray diffraction, Mossbauer spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The results showed that the steels exhibit better corrosion performance with increasing Si concentration. The formation of Fe-oxides such as goethite, lepidocrocite and magnetite was observed. Superparamagnetic goethite is the dominant phase in the rust developed on the Si steels, indicating that Si favors the formation of goethite with small particle size. (C) 2012 Elsevier Ltd.
