摘要
In recent decades, our eating has become unhealthy, our lifestyle is sedentary, working is stressful and our living environment is also polluted causing number of diseases which affect the quality of human life. This creates awareness to utilize natural plant products for modern world human problems. In this review article, the most deadly diseases stipulated by the World Health Organization (WHO), which are afflicting the world's human population as a consequence of their modern lifestyle and how they can be mitigated by uti-lizing bioactive compounds derived from various plant sources is reviewed. Aside from cancer and diabetes, there is now a rising prevalence of cardiovascular, pulmonary and neurological disorders, which can have an impact on human quality of life and lifespan. This current review article focuses and discussed about three bioactive phytocompounds (curcumin, naringenin, resveratrol) and their potential activities against modern world disease stipulated by WHO. Four literature databases Google scholar, Research Gate, Science Direct, PubMed were utilized to search and collect three copmpounds published articles sources in between march 1971 to december 2021. There were a total of 1372 papers found, with 150 of them being found to be eligible for the study. Based on the information gathered, three phytocompounds curcumin, naringenin and resvera-trol which is widely distributed in the various plant sources and holds a promising solution to above men-tioned diseases were cited. These compounds and its protective roles in treating those diseases are discussed in this review article with their molecular mechanisms. This article also gives an insight to utilize plant sour-ces rich in these three compounds for preventing or rejuvenating our body from such pathological disease condition thereby improving quality of human life.(c) 2022 SAAB.
