摘要
In this study the continuous compounding of silica-compounds with a twin screw extruder cascade is investigated. An adequate silanisation and silica dispersion could not be achieved at one stage processes. To attain the satisfied compound property, the compounding is carried out in a 2 stage process. Regarding the mixing quality and process efficiency the cascade 1(first silanisation, then dispersion stage) has a significant advantage. The cascade 1-compound has a lower Payne effect than that produced in the internal mixer, hence a higher degree of silanisation. To reach the same level of the mixture quality only half of the residence time of the internal mixer is needed by the continuous process. The energy consumption of the cascade process is also discussed.
