摘要
Similar to the increase seen in the United States rate of tuberculosis in adults since 1985, the number of cases of childhood tuberculosis has increased, but at an even more significant pace. Because of the nature of this disease, the health-care provider is frequently called to evaluate an entire family unit, which may include adults, adolescents, and children. Even though it is easy to assume that children are ''little adults,'' there are some unique features of childhood tuberculosis that require a different approach than the one used for adults. This review will attempt to highlight those differences and provide a better understanding of the management of tuberculosis in this age group.
