摘要
A global concern about exposure of individuals to an accidental (an acute) or environmental (chronic) hazardous chemicals or physical agents and the possible resultant effects on human health is increasing. Characterization of the dose response process is often done by the use of biomarkers detected in assays predictive of potential toxic outcomes and pathological changes.. Human blood lymphocytes cytogenetic analysis is the foundation of the modern biological dosimetry of induced effects, that are stochastically associated with the risk of cancer. It provides an information about chromosomal abnormalities and their relationship with phenotypic effects. The biomarkers that are often referred to biological effects of chemical exposures is based on the measures of sister chromatid exchanges. The aim of the RADIPER NATO ATC was to compare an average SCE levels detected in cells simultaneously irradiated with the challenging dose of X-rays (2Gy). The lymphocytes were collected from two persons; the heavy smoker and nonsmoking subject A significant (p <.001) difference between SCE average values obtained for investigated subjects and no significant difference between average measures performed by various scoring participants were found
