摘要
Silicon carbide particulate (SiCp) reinforced Al 7075 metal matrix composite (MMC) was synthesized through stir casting and heat treated to T6 condition. Influence of machining process parameters on average roughness (Ra) of the machined surfaces and material removal rate (M) was investigated during turning in dry condition. Results revealed that Ra reduced either on increasing spindle speed or on reducing feed; but cutting depth was not influential on Ra. M increased on increasing either of the three parameters. Moreover, weighted principal component analysis (WPCA) along with Taguchi technique was used for the multiresponse optimization of the process parameters. (c) 2017 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
