3-d calculation of magnetic field and torque in a brushless DC motor with co-axial flux in the stator

摘要
A magnetic field calculated in a 3-D space of a newly designed disc-type three-phase brushless dc permanent magnet motor with co-axial magnetic flux in the stator is presented. The calculations were done using the OPERA (3-d) package with the TOSCA module. A torque developed by the motor and a cogging torque obtained on the basis of the Maxwell's stress tensor method were compared with test results.
