摘要
Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) are heterogeneous and persistent developmental disorders. Over the last decades, various therapeutic approaches for early intervention have been developed. The aim of our study was to evaluate the therapeutic effects of the Frankfurt Early Intervention Program (FFIP), a behavioral approach with a natural learning format in which individual and group therapy (2 hrs/week) is combined with intensive parental work. After the first year of therapy, significant acceleration of mental development and improvement of receptive and expressive language development were observed. Lower chronological age and higher developmental age at the start of therapy were found to be positive predictors of expressive language development. The results are discussed within the context of other early intervention programs.
