Constructed with a cost of almost $3.7 billions and this year's Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement Award winner, the new Denver International comprises 2.5 million cu. yd. of airfield concrete, a 327 ft. control tower, and $330 million land-side terminal. An infrastructure of hair-thin fiber-optic sinews runs 5,300 mi through the complex, along with 11,000 mi of copper wire.
