摘要
Today is the world of moves with faster speed and reduced time. With the increase in population, there has been a sudden increase in the amount of vehicular traffic. These increased number of vehicles around us causes huge traffic jams which produces a large delay in day to day life. Also there are situations where in quick movement of emergency (priority) vehicles like fire truck, ambulances, etc. is needed. This event fails to occur in the time of need, due to the traffic jams caused by unorganized traffic and the unwanted movement of vehicles in the path of priority vehicle. In a way to avoid this in the route of emergency vehicles, use of Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANET) is the best possible solution. It is an effective way to communicate between the priority vehicle and other vehicles. A VANET based scenario is proposed in this paper, wherein the routing of data packets from V2V (priority vehicle to other) is being done with the multi-hop routing protocol. The considered VANET scenario is simulated using SUMO (Simulation of Urban Mobility) and NS2. The performance parameters as related with the used protocol are also evaluated.
