摘要
This paper presents a Wide Area Damping Control Signal (WADCS) for damping inter-area oscillation in power system in real time environment. To design WADCS, an approach is proposed based on generator coherent groups and inter-area signal of center of inertia of speed deviation between generator groups (Delta omega(COI)). By measuring damping ratio of the inter-area signals at each time-step, WADCS is designed and implemented for two untiphase areas. For designing WADCS, various inter-area signals are evaluated by using C5-based decision tree algorithm and the most effective signals including center of inertia of generator speed deviations are identified. The performance of the proposed method is verified on a modified 14-bus test system. The results show the ability of the proposed inter-area signal for damping inter-area oscillation in real time environment.
