摘要
Background: The purpose of this paper is to show competence self-assessment of full-time and part-time nursing students. Methods: The research included 200 nursing students who assessed their own level of competence in the educational process. The examinees assessed their competence in 5 competence categories in accordance with the EU Directives 77/452 EEC, 77/453 EEC and 2005/36 EC. Competences included professional practice and the role of a nurse, nursing and clinical practice, knowledge and cognitive competences, communication and interpersonal competences and management and organization of health care. Results: The results of the t-test show significant diferences in self-assessment between students of full-time and part-time nursing study in categories which include competences of professional practice and the role of nurses, nursing and clinical practice, knowledge and cognitive competences and management and organization of health care. Conclusions: In all four categories the part-time students assessed themselves as having a higher level of competence. In the category which includes communication and interpersonal relationships there was no significant difference in self-assessment between full-time and part-time nursing students.
