摘要
We report on a scalable synthetic pathway to produce an ionic covalent organic polymer (iCOP) via the Menshutkin reaction. This one-step synthetic procedure avoids the need for postmodification of a COP and the use of ionic monomers. The as-synthesized materials precipitate as nanoparticles. The physical and chemical properties of the nanomaterials are characterized, and their sorption capacity for carbon dioxide (CO2) capture is evaluated. The results indicate that the iCOP has a CO2 uptake capacity of similar to 1.5 mmol/g at 1 bar and 293 K. The synthesized materials are considered green, and the proposed one-step approach is cost-effective when compared with other approaches used to synthesize porous materials for adsorption.
