摘要：

While the existing universities are trying to change to meet the rapidly evolving needs of the society, there are concerns that many of the desirable core values of the conventional system may be compromised. This article presents an overview of these concerns. Topics discussed include, the forces driving change, emerging themes in higher education, transformation of traditional universities, remaking of academy, retaining values of the traditional system, and challenges to RF and microwave educators.
