Evolution of airy pulses in the present of third order dispersion

摘要
We simulate and analyze the propagation of airy pulse in a single mode fiber. We obtain the airy pulse solution of the simplified nonlinear Schrodinger equation which has the group-velocity and third-order dispersion terms. Under certain parameterizations, the pulse can propagate for a longer distance in the present of third-order dispersion than in the present of group-velocity dispersion alone. Further, we investigated the evolution of airy pulse by considering the nonlinearity. Without the third-order dispersion, soliton shed from the airy pulse only in normal dispersion region. With the presence of third-order dispersion, the airy pulses can evolve into solitons in both the normal and abnormal dispersion region. (C) 2013 Elsevier GmbH. All rights reserved.
